My Crazy Pet Journey in the Last Year

Okay, let me be real, most of you will probably not do what I did the last year. As a girl who has never owned pets growing up, I thought it was time to have a pet of my own. But, I did not expect things to go the way they did. Let me explain.

I thought getting a fish was a great pet to start with. I also got Mr. Crabs and trust me I may have put a few shrimps in with him. Was that the smartest idea? Probably not, but no one at the pet store told me and Mr. Crabs did not eat them! Guess he is not crabby after all! On day 2, I woke up and find all my fishes were dead. I was like, how was that possible?! Turns out one of my fish has attacked and killed the other fishes in the tank. I did not like the blood in the tank so I was done having fish after 2 days.

Two weeks later I decided to go to the pet store and bought stuff for a guinea pig. I then decided to get a bunny instead but soon changed my mind and ended up getting a cat at the humane society. She was the sweetest 3-year-old cat anyone could ask for. Her name was Mocha.

Literally day 1, I brought her home and things were great at first until that night when I could not breathe. I thought it was covid and went to my doctor on day 2. He told me I was severely allergic to cats and that I had to get rid of her that same day. He also told me I would be allergic to bunnies and guinea pigs.

I was like, what is up with me only having a cat and fish for literally 2 days? I was like maybe I was not ready to have pets.

About 3 weeks later, I ended up getting a puppy named Snowflake. He was the most lovable and social pup I have ever met. Two weeks later I got him a friend named Caramel. Caramel was the complete opposite, very loyal but very shy. I ended up having to get another job working 60–70 hours a week, so I did not have time to train or walk them so I thought it was best to give them what they deserve. But, I had the greatest 8 months with them, prob the best I ever had.

It was so quiet without my pups, that 3 weeks later I ended up getting a kitten even though I knew I was allergic. His name was Kiki. The crazy part was that I was not allergic to him. But, that would be because I wash him with hypo-allergenic soap and feed him hypo-allergenic food. I also have an air purifier running most of the day.

So, in conclusion to my pet journey. I still have Kiki (and I plan forever this time) and I love him and the other pets that I had. Maybe later on, I will add another kitten to the family, but I will definitely wait on that for now.

Thank you so much for reading! :)
